Lee and White secure top two spots in school board primary

King County Elections certified the Aug. 1 primary at midnight on Aug. 15.

Jody Lee and Todd White are the top two vote-getters in the initial stage of the race for Mercer Island School Board director position No. 5. They will advance to the general election on Nov. 7.

The final results were: Lee (47.70%, 2,944 votes), White (30.95%, 1,910 votes) and David Figatner (21.18%, 1,307 votes). There were 11 write-in votes for 0.18%.

At certification time, 6,510 ballots (34.88%) had been counted in the city of 18,665 registered voters.

Along with Lee and White come general election day, Ananta Gudipaty and Cristina Martinez will be vying for position No. 1, and Maggie Tai Tucker will be running for position No. 3.
