Nancy Lee will discuss “Reducing Gun Deaths & Injuries: A Social Marketing Approach” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Jan. 16 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St. The main meeting begins at 12:30 pm. Guests are always welcome. Attendance is free, and optional lunches can be purchased at noon.
Lee will summarize her new book on “Reducing Gun Deaths & Injuries. A Social Marketing Approach: Behavior Change for Social Good.” According to Lee, it’s not about laws and policies, and not about social media. It’s about four major actions community members can take that will significantly reduce gun deaths and injuries.
Lee has consulted with governmental agencies for more than 30 years on developing social marketing: behavior change campaigns, has authored 16 books on social marketing, and is an affiliate instructor at the University of Washington. She has been a Mercer Island resident for more than 40 years and is a past president of the Mercer Island Rotary Club.
