Islander Jerry Quinn Lee, of MulvannyG2 Architecture,  received a 2011 Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Award presented by President Barack Obama’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. The award recognizes Lee’s commitment to serving his community and inspiring others to engage in volunteer service.

Lee logged more than 500 hours of community service in a 12-month period. Those hours include his service as a member of Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation’s “Circle of Care” and as a board member of the College Success Foundation. Lee also serves as an Advisory Council Board Member for: Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Puget Sound Affiliate, the Seattle Sounders, The Martinez Foundation and the Bellevue Arts Museum.

Lee also actively supports the Seattle Art Museum and Communities in Schools/Seattle, as well as Kin On Community Health Care and Nikkei Concerns, both elderly care facilities serving the Pacific Northwest.

In 2004, Gov. Gary Locke appointed Lee to a six-year term to the Washington State Board for Architects. In January 2006, he received the C.J. Taylor award for “Outstanding Community Volunteer” from the National Komen Foundation, and in 2008 he received their “Power of One” award.

This year, the Seattle-based newspaper The International Examiner named Lee “Favorite Philanthropist.”
