Lending a hand through art to Shores residents

Katerina (Kat) Doncheva, a business office specialist at Covenant Living at the Shores on Mercer Island, has contributed 15 pieces of her work that will be exhibited and for sale from June 17-July 17 at the Lighthouse Gallery located at 9115 Fortuna Drive on the Shores campus. All proceeds will be given to the Benevolent Care Fund, which is used to help residents who have outlived their resources. The fund helps those residents remain living at the community. In addition, the resident arts commission is hosting a reception from 11 a.m. to noon on June 22 at the Lighthouse Gallery where attendees will be able to meet with Doncheva and view her works of art. The public is invited to attend both the exhibition and the reception. Doncheva describes her paintings as unconventional landscapes and architecture with a hint of Eastern European flare. The artist is originally from Sophia, Bulgaria, and moved to the Seattle area in 2007. Courtesy graphic
