We were very pleased to read your community profile on Islander Middle School head custodian Roger Curtis (Jan. 26). Each October, Mr. Curtis gets called upon to do the set-up for the League of Women Voters’ and MI Reporter’s fall candidates forum.

We were very pleased to read your community profile on Islander Middle School head custodian Roger Curtis (Jan. 26). Each October, Mr. Curtis gets called upon to do the set-up for the League of Women Voters’ and MI Reporter’s fall candidates forum. He performs the task with such competence, and with such a “can do” attitude, it is always a pleasure to work with him. Mr. Curtis serves the MI School District well. At the same time, he and the school district make a significant contribution to the community-at-large by providing a welcoming venue for important community events such as the candidates forum. Mr. Curtis and his staff greatly deserve the recognition they’ve received.
