It’s rare that a small act can have such far-reaching effects. On the April 17 ballot, we have the potential to make a difference for generations of Island children to come. By checking the YES box for the school bond, we can each do our part to deliver the learning environment children need to thrive.
We also get to do something for ourselves with that vote. We will follow in the footsteps of an esteemed generation who, with a school construction program back in the 1950s, made Mercer Island schools a community priority and launched our reputation for excellent schools.
With vision and leadership, those early Mercer Island residents took the difficult but meaningful step to spend on school construction for the long-term benefit of their community and themselves.
Now we have the chance to make a lasting difference. Vote Yes on the school bond and help continue the legacy of our Island through great schools and better educations for the next 50 years.
