This Friday, the 2012 Summer Olympics get underway in London. The Olympics remain one of the most watched sporting events in the country, and this year local Pacific Northwest athletes will be competing in various events.
The Olympics will be broadcast on King5 beginning on Friday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. for the opening ceremonies.
On Saturday, July 28, NBC will be hosting a full day of Olympics coverage, showing cycling, swimming, women’s basketball, rowing, women’s volleyball and beach volleyball. NBC and its related networks will be showing a variety of events throughout the Games.
Due to London’s eight-hour time difference from Seattle, events shown on TV are likely to be tape delayed, but there are ways to watch specific events online when they actually happen.
Events will be streamed online at NBCOlympics.com throughout the event.
All of the NBC Universal TV channels will be hosting Olympic events, including MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sports Network and Bravo.
Specifically, the NBC Sports Network will cover team sports, including basketball and volleyball, beginning with the women’s soccer match against France on Wednesday, July 25. MSNBC will be home to events such as badminton, wrestling, table tennis, basketball and soccer, while CNBC will show boxing, including both men’s and women’s competitions.
Bravo will host the tennis competition from July 28 through Aug. 3.
All other events will be available via the NBC Olympics website.
