May 21
PROWLING: An Islander reported a vehicle prowl at 1:25 p.m. in the 7000 block of 82nd Ave. SE.
May 23
MORE PROWLING: A man said at 3:35 p.m. that someone had prowled his vehicle sometime in the last week. It was parked in his driveway in the 4500 block of 86th Ave. SE, and unlocked. Money and jewelry were stolen.
ANOTHER PROWL: Various items, including sunglasses and a vehicle registration, owner’s manual and insurance card, were stolen after a car prowl reported at 4:44 p.m. in the 3500 block of E. Mercer Way. The vehicle’s front passenger window had been broken.
May 25
THEFT: A man used a stolen credit card to attempt a purchase at the north QFC. He didn’t know the pin number, and left the store without his wallet. He returned for the wallet, and was arrested at 2:18 a.m.
MARY JANE: In the 4100 block of 86th Ave. SE, an associate principal detected the smell of marijuana on two juvenile students when they returned from lunch at 12:39 p.m. One of the juveniles had marijuana in her possession. The parents were notified, and the juveniles were released to them.
FRAUD: A victim in the 2800 block of 78th Ave. SE reported at 2:57 p.m. that they were defrauded by someone who said they were a Puget Sound Energy employee collecting payment on what they alleged was a past due account, for a loss of $1,200 in the form of three Green Dot prepaid MoneyPak cards.
ACCIDENT: A bicycle rider lost control and went off a path in the 8500 block of N. Mercer Way at 6:31 p.m., and struck a tree. They were transported to the hospital for treatment.
May 27
PROWLING: A man said his vehicle was prowled overnight in the 3700 block of 77th Ave. SE. The car was unlocked, and not damaged. The victim’s wallet was stolen, including his driver’s license and credit cards.
