The Mercer Island baseball team beat Liberty on Friday, April 26. The final score was 4-1 for the Islanders.
Mercer Island was the first to score in the top of the third inning, while Liberty tied the game in the bottom of the fourth. Mercer Island retook the lead in the top of the fifth, scoring three runs.
Mercer Island had four runs off seven hits with two errors, while Liberty had one run off eight hits and no errors in the match.
Beau Hibbert was 1-1 during the game with two runs, while Brian Higgins was 1-2 at the plate with a triple and two RBI. Pitcher Isak Morris was credited with the win, pitching for five innings and giving up one run.
The Islanders will play at Mount Si on Tuesday, April 30 in a 4:30 p.m. game.
