The Mercer Island baseball team earned it’s second straight KingCo victory this week, beating Liberty 6-4 on Wednesday, April 10.
The Islanders scored six runs off of eight hits with no errors, while the Patriots had four runs off eight hits and no errors.
Brian Higgins hit his first home run of the season during the game. He was 1-3 at the plate with two runs scored and one RBI. Mack Schlamp was 2-3 at bat, scoring a run, while Steven Petrie was 2-4 with a run and two RBI. Karsten Sherman was 1-3 with a run, while Nick Chandler scored a run. Keegan Ogard had an RBI, while Alex Himstead was 1-4 at the plate.
The team will play against Mount Si on Friday, April 12 in a 6 p.m. game at Island Crest Park. Mercer Island is 3-2 in league games and 7-4 overall this season.
