The Mercer Island fastpitch team earned a win in the second to last game of the season. The Islanders beat Sammamish 15-5.
The team will host Bellevue on Thursday, May 3 in the final game of the season.
Against the Totems, Mercer Island was up 6-1 at the end of the first inning, while Sammamish scored once in the bottom of the third. Mercer Island was up by 12 runs in the top of the fourth, after adding six more runs, and both teams put up three runs in the fifth.
The Islanders had 15 runs on nine hits and one error, while Sammamish had five runs on eight hits and four errors.
Thursday’s game against the Wolverines will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the South Mercer Playfields.
