In an early Monday game, the Mercer Island boys hosted Interlake. The Islanders won 74-45.

The boys team was up 21-4 at the end of the first quarter, and continued to control the game throughout. A 19-10 second quarter gave the Islanders a solid hold on the game going into the second half. The Saints held the third quarter to an even 15 points for both teams, but a 19-16 final quarter officially gave the Islanders the win.

Brian Miller had the Islanders highest point total for the game, with 12, while Espen Platou and Joe Rasmussen had nine. Sean Hughes scored eight points, followed by seven from Nick Nordale, six from Jeff Lindquist and five from Justen Altaras, Parker Scott and Kaleb Warner. Kyle Huber and Chris Lawler each had three points, with two from Jake Shaddle.

The girls team also beat Interlake on Monday, winning 61-39.

Interlake was up 15-8 at the end of the first, but Mercer Island went on a 17-1 run in the second quarter to take the lead. They added 16 points in the third quarter, followed by a game winning 20 in the final minutes.

Renae Tessem had 12 points overall, with Julia Blumenstein added nine and Rachel Tessem hitting eight. Savanna Reid had seven, with Jamie Mounger added six. Carly Andersen had five points, while Lauren Ellis, Suri Johnson and Ari Moscatel each had four, with Brooke Behrbaum posting two points.
