The Mercer Island boys youth basketball teams finished their seasons in top form, with three teams taking the top three spots in the Eastside Travel League gold division playoffs.
The sixth-grade team, coached by Brock Maybee and Patrick Dunlop, won its division and finished the season with a 14-2 record. The team, which won the title last year, pulled out a 41-36 record over Eastside Catholic in the first round and went on to beat Skyline, 53-39, in the semifinals.

After the loss, the Islanders faced Mount Si and took the game 43-31 for a third-place finish in the tournament.
