Less than a month prior to the Nov. 7 general election, the League of Women Voters/Seattle King County, the Mercer Island Preschool Association and the Mercer Island PTA will host a Mercer Island Candidate Forum from 7-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Islander Middle School, 7447 84th Ave. SE. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

City council candidates are: Position 1, Dave Rosenbaum; Position 3, Wendy Weiker; Position 5, Michael Curry and Craig Reynolds; and Position 7, Andrew Friedman and Jake Jacobson

School board candidates are: Position 1, Ananta Gudipaty and Cristina Martinez; Position 3, Maggie Tai Tucker; and Position 5, Jody Lee and Todd White

Council candidates will be answering questions first, and the school board candidates will follow. People can submit questions by Oct. 10 at https://forms.gle/HLLhEs7KkqCLUG7C7. No questions will be accepted on forum night.
