Mercer Island High School freshman Marcus Schiller was featured on KOMO news Thursday March 6 for his entrepreneurial venture, Brain Bands. Brain Bands are multi-colored neon bands that serve as “a homework list for the wrist” to help students remember to do their homework.
Brain Bands work by attaching the bands to your backpack and assigning a color to a subject. When homework is assigned in that subject, remove that band and put it on your wrist. When homework is done, attach that band back to your bag.
Marcus’ father Michael, who is an enterpreneur, brought his son’s idea to Sunrise Identity, which will help market Brain Bands with a back-to-school launch this summer. In the video, 15-year-old Marcus said with his father being an entrepreneur his whole life, he knew he couldn’t shake the entrepreneurial gene.
Brain Bands isn’t the first product created by Schiller; he also developed Hattachables, which are accessories to personalize baseball caps.
