Mercer Island Girls Soccer beats Bellevue

Islanders go to Liberty High School Saturday for playoffs.

The Mercer Island Girls Soccer team beat first-place Bellevue 2-1 Tuesday at Islander Stadium. Senior Kianna Chang put the Islanders on the board with a goal in the 13th minute of the game with an assist from senior Michele Day. Junior Sylvie Dornay followed with another goal in the 46th minute, with an assist from senior Suri Johnson. Bellevue freshman Jojo Harber scored in the 72nd minute for the Wolverines.

The Islanders now look forward to their playoff game at Liberty High School against the Patriots Saturday, Nov. 2. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
