Adult flag football is coming to Mercer Island under the Parks and Recreation’s Mercer Bowl I tournament.

The proceeds will help the department fund several programs and special events threatened by budget cuts for the next year.

Teams can register for the tournament at $250 per team, or $200 a team if the group is from Mercer Island. The deadline to register is March 20, with space for 12 teams.

The tournament is at an intermediate level of six-on-six players on a 60-yard field. Three games in the tournament are guaranteed, with awards for the top teams.
Money raised from the program will help fund projects that the department otherwise can’t afford, such as the April egg hunts, Fun Mobile and the community campout.
