Theft An Island man reported that his kite board and hockey supplies were stolen sometime between Feb. 15 and April 8. The supplies, which included a dry suit, hockey skates and equipment, two kites and a kite board, were taken from his unlocked storage. The total loss is approximately $4,150.

An Island man reported that his Sea Ray boat was stolen sometime between April 2 and April 15. According to the police report, the boat was being kept in the 4100 block of East Mercer Way. The estimated loss is $15,000.

Fraud

An Island woman reported that $168 was fraudulently charged to her Verizon account sometime between April 3 and April 7. The victim claimed that the unauthorized charges were the result of her mail being stolen from an unsecured mailbox in the 7200 block of West Mercer Way. American Express refunded the victim.

Mischief

A Seattle woman reported that an unknown suspect has been throwing rocks into her horse’s stall at an Island stable. According to the incident report, the woman also found a “road kill” snake in the stall on April 12. She claimed that she has found rocks in her horse’s stall on and off again for 11 years and that a local resident had, in the past, created problems for her horse. She said she was afraid her horse could be hurt if the harassing continues. The Mercer Island Police Department forwarded the report to Animal Control.

A 9-year-old boy reported that his 8-year-old friend had been shot at with a BB gun on April 14. The boy was wearing a biking helmet, and the BB hit the helmet. According to the report, the suspect was driving a greenish-gray late model car, possibly a Mitsubishi SUV. The incident occurred in the 9100 block of 54th Street.

Car prowls

A woman living on Holly Lane reported that her Lexus had been prowled on April 17. The car had been left unlocked in the woman’s driveway. The thief rummaged through numerous items in the car and stole the woman’s iPod cord. The total loss is $25.

Accidents

A cyclist was struck by a car at the intersection of S.E. 26th Street and North Mercer Way just before 5:30 p.m. on April 16. The cyclist was in a designated crosswalk when a car, heading southbound on S.E. 26th Street, attempted to turn right onto North Mercer Way during a red light. The biker was transported to Overlake Hospital.
