Burglary
Several tools, including a table saw, nail gun and air compressor, were stolen from a storage shed at the Island Crest Apartments sometime between Nov. 20 and 25. According to the incident report, the hinges of the locked door were removed from the chicken-wire-framed storage unit for the thieves to gain access to the equipment.
Paint-spraying equipment was stolen from the construction site of an Island home in the 4800 block of Forest Avenue S.E. sometime between Nov. 15 and 17.
Prescription medication was stolen from a drawer in an Island home located in the 4400 block of 88th Avenue S.E. between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 20. According to the incident report, a burglary alarm went off, and officers responded to the 79-year-old Islander’s home but could not find the suspect.
Arrests
A 42-year-old man from Renton was arrested for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over by an officer in the 2600 block of West Mercer Way around 1:10 a.m. on Nov. 23.
A 21-year-old woman from Lake Stevens was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol when an officer pulled her over in the 4100 block of East Mercer Way around 3 a.m. on Nov. 22.
Reckless burning
A fire was set by using a roll of toilet paper in the men’s room of the public restrooms at Bicentennial Park around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 20. The building was not damaged by the fire.
Auto accidents
A car pulling into a parking spot struck the open door of an adjacent car parked at the North end QFC around 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 23. According to the incident report, the driver pulling into the spot was halfway in when the adjacent driver opened her door and struck the other car.
A minor head-on collision occurred just outside the Albertsons parking lot on S.E. 29th Street around 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 21. According to the accident report, one of the drivers was pulling out of the parking lot and did not see the oncoming car that she collided with. Neither driver was injured and both drove their cars away from the scene after talking with an officer.
A collision occurred in the intersection of S.E. 27th Street and 77th Avenue S.E. around 3:35 p.m. on Nov. 21. According to the accident report, a 16-year-old Islander was cited for failing to stop or yield the right of way at a stop sign where the accident occurred.
Car prowl
The passenger side window of a car parked in the 8300 block of East Mercer Way was shattered and $1 in change was stolen from the center console during a car prowl, the night of Nov. 22.
An iPod and the vehicle owner’s insurance card and registration were stolen from an unlocked SUV parked in the 7700 block of S.E. 39th Street sometime between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 22.
Gas was siphoned and tools were stolen from a truck parked at the Shell service station located on S.E. 28th Street between Nov. 19 and 21. According to the incident report, the landscaping equipment was stolen from the bed of the truck.
Recovered vehicle
A car stolen from Medina was found unoccupied and abandoned on the north side of the roadway in the 8200 block of West Mercer Way around 3:15 a.m. on Nov. 23.
