Mercer Island School Board plans listening sessions on bond

The Mercer Island School District Board of Directors will be holding several listening sessions for the public to get input on the proposed bond draft.

The Mercer Island School District Board of Directors will be holding several listening sessions for the public to get input on the proposed bond draft.

The district is looking to get community feedback on its plan to build a new elementary school, rebuild part of Islander Middle School and add on to Mercer Island High School.

Community members interested in learning about the new elementary school and high school expansion can attend meetings on May 22, June 19 and Aug. 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the North Campus Gymnasium, located next to Youth Theatre Northwest.

The topic of the middle school expansion will be discussed on May 21, June 20 and Aug. 27 at Islander Middle School, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
