The Mercer Island boys lacrosse team beat Bainbridge on Saturday, April 27 in the annual Island War contest. The final score was 9-6.
Bainbridge was up early on in the game, holding a 1-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Mercer Island took control of the game and led 3-2 at halftime.
After the break, Bainbridge found some offensive momentum on the field, holding the Islanders to one goal in the third quarter, while evening the game at 4-4 going into the final minutes.
A scoring run for the Islanders in the fourth quarter sealed the win for the Islanders.
Mercer Island will play Snohomish on Tuesday, April 30 in an 8 p.m. game at Mercer Island High School.
