The recruitment for a position on the city of Mercer Island Planning Commission has been extended and is now open through Nov. 19.

City council is recruiting for five positions on the commission, with terms beginning Jan. 1, 2025. The commission reviews policy and makes recommendations related to land use and planning decisions for the community.

MI is looking for: two lay persons (no specific planning knowledge needed); one resident paid practitioner (Island residents who work in the industry); and two non-resident paid practitioners (anyone working in the industry).
