The Mercer Island PTA Council is accepting nominations for its annual awards that recognize outstanding volunteers and educators (including committees, departments or programs) whose creativity, innovation, dedication and hard work make a difference for Mercer Island schools and their students.

These awards are meant to reward those individuals or groups who stand out among all of the great volunteers at the local and district level, according to the council.

The awards are for: outstanding program, community partner, advocate, children’s advocate, service, educator, volunteer (Golden Acorn Award) and

there will be an Honorary Lifetime PTA Membership Award.
