Nominations are now being accepted for the Mercer Island PTA Council Awards to recognize individuals and organizations that have served the students and families of the Mercer Island School District.

Each year, the council spotlights “outstanding volunteers and educators (including committees, departments, or programs) whose creativity, innovation, dedication, and hard work make a difference for Mercer Island schools and our students,” according to a press release. Accolades also include the Golden Acorn Award for a stellar volunteer and an Honorary Lifetime PTA Membership Award.

The nomination window is open from now until April 20. Council will present the awards at 9:30 a.m. on May 10 at the VFW Hall (1836 72nd Ave. SE). All are welcome to attend.
