The Mercer Island PTA Council is now selling its traditional Grad Grams to celebrate Mercer Island fifth-, eighth- and 12th-graders who will don their caps and gowns in June.
This tradition, which has been in existence since 1976, features $6 grams printed on parchment paper, personalized with senders’ congratulatory messages and mailed direct to graduates’ homes.
People can order grams by May 20 for delivery by the week of the Mercer Island High School (MIHS) graduation on June 9. The overall sale ends on June 15.
All proceeds fund the Mercer Island Community Scholarship Program, which awards scholarships to 27 MIHS graduating seniors each spring. Students are selected by MIHS faculty for their leadership, perseverance and positive contributions to their classroom and community. The program is administered by the MI PTA Council in collaboration with the MIHS administration, MIHS PTA and the greater Island community.
