MI Shores residents and employees fight against breast cancer

Special to the Reporter

A group of residents and employees from Covenant Living at the Shores on Mercer Island were nominated to be the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Team of the Year for U.S. North Region.

This region is composed of 17 states in the northern U.S., including the Pacific Northwest. There were only four other teams nominated for this prestigious award.

This past September was the 10th year the residents and employees have held a breast cancer awareness walk at the senior living community. Although Covenant Living was not chosen as the winner, the nomination is a recognition of the dedication and commitment to the American Cancer Society through the annual campus cancer walk and the support given in the fight against cancer.

The winning team of the year was from Kansas.
