As the beginning of the 2023-24 school year nears, the Mercer Island School District has unveiled a robust schedule for elementary, middle and high school students and parents. The first day of school for grades 1-12 is Aug. 30.

Here’s some highlights:

Mercer Island High School — Fees and photos for juniors and seniors on Aug. 22; fees and photos for freshmen and sophomores on Aug. 23; drill, cheer and football photos on Aug. 24.

Islander Middle School — Back2School Day on Aug. 23; PTSA Welcome Back Parent Coffee on Aug. 31; 6th Grade and New Families Pizza Dinner on Sept. 7.

Island Park Elementary — Opening Day Coffee on Aug. 30; first day of kindergarten and PTA Coffee, Kisses and Kleenex on Sept. 5; Popsicles with the Principal on Sept. 6.

Lakeridge Elementary — Open House on Aug. 29; PTA Welcome Coffee on Aug. 30; Principal Q and A on Aug. 30; first day of kindergarten on Sept. 5.

Northwood Elementary — PTA New Families Playdate for all grades on Aug. 18; first day of kindergarten on Aug. 30; PTA 1st-5th Coffee and Donuts Meet and Greet on Aug. 30.

West Mercer Elementary — PTA Kindergarten Ice Cream Social on Aug. 28; Open House on Aug. 29; first day of kindergarten on Sept. 5; All School Welcome Coffee on Sept. 5.
