$445 worth of motorcycle clothing and gear was stolen out of a bedroom in a residence being remodeled in the 7800 block of S.E. 71st Street. Two helmets, a leather jacket and a pair of gloves were taken sometime between Feb. 28 and March 3. One witness is listed in the case.

March 1

Missing wallet: A 78-year-old Mercer Island woman’s wallet was missing at 10 a.m., two hours after she made a purchase at Starbucks in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th Street. She might have dropped the wallet after walking home. The total loss was $75.

March 2

Trespass: An unknown adult male suspect fled from an open garage in the 4700 block of 89th Avenue S.E. after being discovered by the resident, a 54-year-old woman. The suspect did not steal or cause any damage, and he disappeared to the southeast of the residence.

Stolen vehicle: An unknown suspect parked a stolen Subaru Impreza at a business in the 7400 block of S.E. 24th Street after 3 p.m. One witness observed a “suspicious person” who left the vehicle, which had been reported as stolen. The registered owner was contacted and picked up the vehicle. Fingerprints were lifted for evidence.

March 3

Arrest: Police arrested a Mercer Island man, 50, at 1:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of 78th Avenue S.E. The suspect had a $5,000 misdemeanor warrant for DUI. He was booked into the Issaquah jail.

March 4

Arrest: Police arrested a Marysville man, 26, at 12:33 a.m. in the 8200 block of S.E. 26th Street on a no-bail felony warrant for vehicle theft. He was driving with a suspended license and had five counts of Failure To Appear on record. After being processed, he was taken into Everett Sheriff’s Office custody.

Assault: Police arrested a 16-year-old boy at 9:15 p.m. in the 5000 block of 84th Avenue S.E. The boy was booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center for assaulting his father and younger brother, 14.

March 5

Accident: A vehicle failed to yield the right of way in a traffic accident at 3:27 p.m. in the 3900 block of Island Crest Way. A Toyota was struck after turning into oncoming traffic on Island Crest Way, when the driver mistakenly thought no cars were coming. The driver of the other vehicle, a Jeep, braked but could not avoid the collision. She was cited for driving with expired tabs. Neither vehicle was towed, and there were no injuries.

Arrest: Police stopped a vehicle for speeding more than 10 mph over the limit at 7:37 p.m. in the 7400 block of eastbound I-90. The driver, a 48-year-old Seattle man, was arrested after two outstanding warrants worth a total of $12,000 were confirmed. The driver had been suspended out of Oregon and he was booked into the King County Jail. His vehicle was towed.

March 6

Assault: A 49-year-old patient at Mercer Island Care and Rehab pushed another patient in a hallway of the facility at 9:25 p.m. There was one witness of the incident, and the suspect was cited.

March 7

Arrest: A South end resident was arrested for assault at 5:48 p.m., and the suspect’s son was taken to the ER.

Car prowl: Multiple items were stolen out of an Acura MDX between 6:45 and 7:30 p.m. in the 7400 block of S.E. 27th Street. A rear passenger window was broken out, and two checks totaling $4,500 were stolen, along with a portable hard drive, credit cards, and a backpack.

March 8

Burglary: A South end house in the 8400 block of West Mercer Way was burglarized while the residents were absent between 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The rear glass sliding door was shattered, and blood-covered glass was found at the scene. The house had been searched, and items were stolen. Fingerprints were lifted. The total estimated loss was $3,000.

Theft: An iPhone was stolen from a table in Starbucks at 7695 S.E. 27th Street. The phone belonged to a Mercer Island man, 67, and the total loss was $700.

March 9

Suspicious conversation: Police contacted two male individuals, ages 16 and 25, at 7:40 p.m. in the 3400 block of 77th Place S.E. after a Mercer Island man reported hearing them talking about a drug deal and one individual claimed to be packing a gun. No weapons were found on the subjects.

March 10

Theft: $2,600 in cash and a $120 check were stolen out of the microwave of a residence in the 6200 block of East Mercer Way sometime after March 7. The victim, a 40-year-old Bellevue woman, reported the incident at 3:27 p.m., and two suspects were identified in the case.
