Mercer Island’s Municipal Court is set to reopen the week of Aug. 24 and will feature new plexiglass “sneeze guards” (pictured) as a coronavirus safety measure. The dividers have also been installed in various other city service counter locations. Other safety protocols will include a limited number of visitors (with everyone inside required to wear a protective mask or other face covering) and restricted flow through the building. Located in City Hall, 9611 SE 36th St., the court will begin holding hearings on its large backlog of cases. Photo courtesy of the city of Mercer Island
