The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the greater Puget Sound area.
The alert notifies all residents to be prepared for potential wildfires this weekend, as thunderstorms are expected to form.
The warning is in effect through Sunday evening, including Seattle and the Puget Sound metro area, along with the foothills and mountains.
A red flag warning is issued when dry fuels and incoming weather combine to create a higher risk for wildfires. This weekend, due to possible thunderstorms, lightening causes a high risk for starting fires.
