A Volvo knocked down a 60-year-old Seattle woman in a crosswalk at 10:05 a.m., Dec. 1, in the 2400 block of 72nd Avenue S.E. Police could not determine who was at fault — whether or not the vehicle failed to yield, or the pedestrian walked into the vehicle. The pedestrian could speak only Mandarin and could only communicate through her nephew, who translated for her when he arrived. She sustained a scrape on her right knee and was transported to Overlake Hospital. A witness saw the woman down on the road next to a sewer grate, but did not see the accident happen. Police did not issue any citations.
