Mercer Island School District (MISD) Superintendent Fred Rundle and school board directors have been discussing open enrollment at recent meetings, and Rundle will host a community webinar on the issue from 6-7 p.m. on March 11.
MISD board policy requires the superintendent to determine no later than April 15 annually if the district will be open to new nonresident student enrollment for the next school year. For details, visit: https://www.mercerislandschools.org/enrollment/residency-requirements-for-misd
As Rundle and the school board directors work toward an open enrollment decision, the Zoom webinar will update the community on their discussions and highlight the possible options, logistics and parameters of open enrollment if the district decides to move in this direction. Rundle will be taking questions from community members during the webinar.
Residents can watch the webinar at https://mercerislandschools.zoom.us/j/82266147152#success
