Passion leads to recognition

The American Cancer Society honored Roxanne Helleren as the 2022 recipient of the WA State Legacy & Leadership Celebrate Lives Award for organizing the Mercer Island Covenant Living at the Shores Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk event in the fall and the Seattle Making Strides event. The senior living community’s resident life director, a cancer survivor herself, is passionate about the event and thankful for the support it gets each year.
