Pedersen will discuss Rotary District 5030 updates at Sept. 19 meeting

Kaj Pedersen will discuss Rotary District 5030 updates and going forward at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Sept. 19 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St. The main meeting begins at 12:30 pm. Guests are always welcome.

District governor Pedersen is a software executive currently leading technology for AstrumU and with more than 20 years experience in venture creation.

He was born in Kitwe, Zambia, starting a nomadic existence with opportunities to live in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Morocco, France, Germany, Denmark, Scotland, England, California and Washington.

His educational journey included actively giving back to the community underpinned by Kurt Hahn’s philosophy, making Rotary a wonderful fit enabling him to pursue service through self. His Rotary story is inspired by the polio fight, a disease his mother had as a child. Rotary’s ambitious vision for eradicating polio spoke volumes about the passion and commitment to service that Rotary represents. This inspired his involvement as a club president and currently as district governor.
