The 2014 Art UnCorked, a new event sponsored by the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce and the Mercer Island Visual Arts League (MIVAL), will be an evening of wine tasting, art, music and food in the heart of downtown Mercer Island. The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12, in the Town Center at 78th Avenue S.E. and Sunset Highway.
Ten Washington state wineries will be pouring their wines under tents along 78th Street, while juried artists will be showing and selling their paintings, sculptures and more in booths along Sunset Highway. Wines poured will be available for purchase at a 10 percent discount.
Several food trucks will provide delicious choices for everything from snacks to full meals. And live music will contribute to the festive mood.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the scholarship programs of both MIVAL and the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce.
Admission is free. Tickets for the wine tasting are $25 in advance; $30 after Sept. 5.
