Arrests
Police arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of committing car prowls around 3:50 a.m., Sept. 16, in the 6000 block of 84th Avenue S.E. According to the police report, an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and determined that several items in the car were previously reported stolen by an Islander. Property belonging to a second victim was also recovered and returned.
A 29-year-old Seattle man was arrested for driving with a suspended license and an outstanding warrant around 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the 4700 block of West Mercer Way.
Two Island teens were arrested around 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 16 in the 2900 block of 78th Avenue S.E. According to the police report, one of the 18-year-olds was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol while his passenger was arrested for possessing alcohol after he claimed ownership of some beverages located in the backseat.
A 27-year-old Bellevue man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him for speeding around 82 mph while heading eastbound on I-90 just after midnight on Sept. 20.
A 20-year-old Islander was arrested for having consumed alcohol and being drunk around 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 while stumbling in the 8000 block of S.E. 72nd Street.
Assaults
A 42-year-old Bellevue man was arrested for assault and booked into the Issaquah jail around 4 p.m. on Sept. 17 in the 5400 block of Island Crest Way. According to the police report, the two men were in a road rage incident in which the suspect approached the victim, a 23-year-old Seattle man, in the road and smashed his legs in his car door.
A 20-year-old Islander bit a police officer while getting handcuffed on the morning of Sept. 16. According to the police report, the young man was out of control and acting suicidal, so police had to restrain him. He was transported to Overlake Hospital and placed under police supervision.
Boarder collision
A young skateboarder riding in the street after dark collided with a moving car but continued on while the driver contacted police around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the 2400 block of S.E. 76th Avenue S.E. According to the incident report, a 64-year-old Islander was driving northbound on 76th when the skater rode in front of her as he swooped across the roadway. While the driver passed the young man, she changed lanes to take a left turn and he struck the side of her car. Police were unable to locate the skateboarder.
Car prowls
Two vehicles were prowled during the night of Sept. 15 in the 8200 block of S.E. 59th Street and about $600 worth of items was stolen. The missing belongings included CDs, sunglasses and a personal multi-tool. Another unlocked vehicle nearby was prowled that same evening, but nothing was taken.
An unlocked vehicle in the 7700 block of Westwood Lane was prowled during the night of Sept. 16 and multiple items were taken, including money, CDs, flashlights and an emergency kit.
A glove box was also rummaged through but nothing was taken from the vehicle during the night of Sept. 15 in the 8100 block of S.E. 73rd Street.
The window of a car was smashed and a backpack was stolen in a car prowl that took place between 2:30 and 5 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the 3800 block of East Mercer Way.
