FRAUD: A 19-year-old Island woman reported she was scammed into wiring $1,700 for an unknown party.

WARRANT ARREST: A 23-year-old Bothell man was arrested on a traffic stop by the King County Sheriff’s office. The subject was arrested and booked on a King County warrant.
CAR PROWL: Around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, a woman from Maple Valley and another from Bellevue reported their cars prowled in the Dragon park parking lot at 5500 Island Crest Way. The prowls happened in the span of about 45 minutes.
FRIDAY | 11
MENTAL: A 20-year-old Island woman called police to report that she had cut herself because she was depressed. She was voluntarily commited at Overlake hospital for treatment.
MARINE: Two Islanders and a witness reported their vessel damaged during a boat stop in Lake Washington.
FRAUD: A 53-year-old Island man’s personal information was unlawfully used to open credit cards in California. Charges were made for $2,830. The victim’s banks were notified of the fraudulent activity.
ACCIDENT: The driver of a vehicle in the Luther Burbank parking lot said the lot was very full on Saturday. He was driving north through the lot and stopped for traffic ahead of him. Another vehicle backed into him. The driver of that car corroborated his statement, acknowledging that traffic was heavy and that she felt her car hit the other.
ACCIDENT: Around 12:40 p.m. a car was stopped at SB Island Crest Way and S.E. 40th St. at a red light. Another car was stopped behind it. When the driver accidently let his foot off the brake, he slid into the first vehicle.

FRAUD: A 55-year-old Island woman reported her personal information compromised. A suspect attempted to charge $11,500 to her credit card but was denied.
ACCIDENT: Around 1 p.m. on Saturday in a parking garage on 76th Ave. S.E. a car attempted to back up and collided with another in the turn lane. The first vehicle’s driver’s side door struck the second car’s front passenger-side bumper.
ACCIDENT: The driver of a car at 80th Ave. S.E. and S.E. 27th St. said he came to a stop at the stop sign. A second car came to a stop to his left. Both said they intended to proceed in their direction of travel. Both drivers and a witness said they didn’t see each other. Debris in the intersection from the collision, suggests that the second car entered the intersection before the first car.
FRAUD: A 73-year-old Island man was sent an email asking him to be a secret shopper. The suspect sent the victim several checks and instructed him to cash them and send the money to other people via money orders, while keeping a small fee. He was later informed that the checks were fraudulent and he was out $4,150.
FRAUD: A 66-year-old Island man reported his credit cards stolen out of Laredo, Texas. A car was purchased out of Leon, Mexico for $28,919.

THEFT: Three Islanders who live together in the 7200 block of N. Mercer Way said one of them invited friends over for a party, then left the house unattended. Sometime during that time, several electronics went missing, as well $1,500 in cash. The victims also reported that somebody had sex on one of the resident’s beds.
MONDAY | 14
FRAUD: An Island woman reported that she’d been a victim of mail theft and later discovered her banking accounts had been compromised.
BURGLARY: Sometime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday, somebody ransacked and burglarized a house in the 4600 block of E. Mercer Way. The owner said before she left she unlocked the front door to water her plants and forgot to lock the door when she returned and went through the garage. An iPad, jewelry and Macbook Air were among the items stolen. At least a partial print was retrieved from the scene.
FRAUD: An unknown suspect filed for unemployment benefits with the Washington State Department of Employment Security using an Islander’s name, birth date and social security number. A letter was sent to the victim when the direct deposit information didn’t match.

ASSAULT: Two cooks at a restaurant in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th St. got into an altercation around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The fight resulted in several injuries which were documented at the scene.
BURGLARY: The wall of a storage unit made of chicken wire in the 2500 block of 81st Ave. S.E. was cut. Nothing was taken but the damages were estimated at $50.
BURGLARY: A 29-year-old Bellevue man found the stairwell gate leading from level one to level two of a parking garage in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th St., duct-taped open. Two lockers were open. One seemed to have been left unlocked, and the other appeared pried open. The lockers had obviously been rummaged through, but it wasn’t clear if anything was stolen.
CAR PROWL: An unlocked car in a supposedly secure garage was entered overnight. It wasn’t clear if anything was taken but there were several similar incidents reported in the same garage in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th St.
CAR PROWL: A 1999 Honda Accord, unlocked at the time, was prowled in the Mercer Apartments overnight. A Sirius XM radio was stolen, amounting to about $50 in losses.
CAR PROWL: A 28-year-old Island woman parked her car overnight between midnight and 4 p.m. on Tuesday in a garage in the 2900 block of 76th Ave. S.E. When she returned, she found her car door open and her personal items strewn about. An iPod and GPS unit were stolen, along with the several sets of cords for the devices.
THEFT: A 24-year-old Island man reported that sometime in the last month his bike had gone missing from one of the storage lockers in the Mercer Apartments parking garage.
WEDNESDAY | 16
CAR PROWL: A 24-year-old Island man said $425 worth of belongings were stolen from his unlocked car overnight on the second level of the Mercer Apartments parking lot. Those items were a Sony video camera and a “treasure chest” containing books and knickknacks.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: A 51-year-old Island man reported a case of malicious mischief at the Mercer Island High School construction site, in the south main parking lot. A total of $160 in damages were inflicted on a road sign and irrigation pipe sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 4 a.m., Thursday.
