Arrests
A 19-year-old Island resident was arrested for driving with a suspended license after police stopped her in the 7800 block of S.E. 28th Street around midnight on Sept. 12. She was booked into the Issaquah jail.
Two teens were arrested in the 3100 block of 65th Place S.E. for joy-riding in the driver’s grandfather’s truck and possessing a small amount of marijuana around 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 9. According to the police report, officers stopped the teens because the truck was missing a front license plate, and the 16-year-old Islander behind the wheel did not have a driver’s license or identification. He admitted that he stole the truck from his grandparents’ house to go for a ride with his friend from Bellevue. While searching the car after the arrest, officers found a bag of marijuana and a glass pipe as well.
An Island man, 44, was arrested for punching his friend in the face while at the North end QFC around 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 8. According to the police. The suspect was booked into the Issaquah jail.
Police arrested a 24-year-old repeat offender from Seattle — who has been caught driving drunk more than four times in the past 10 years — after he was in an accident in the 7800 block of S.E. 40th Street around 1 p.m. on Sept. 7. According to the police report, the young man was drunk at the time of the accident and had marijuana in his car as well. Both drivers in the collision suffered non-disabling injuries.
Domestic violence
A 57-year-old Island resident was arrested for assaulting his brother, 49, as he knocked him to the ground and choked him in the 3000 block of 68th Avenue S.E. around 3 p.m. on Sept. 7.
Thefts
A purse containing a cellphone, birth certificate, social security card, driver’s license and some credit cards was stolen from the inside of a SUV parked in the 9600 block of S.E. 34th Street, the night of Sept. 10. According to the police report, the victim thought she had locked the vehicle but there was no sign of a forced entry and the alarm did not go off.
A bicycle was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 7100 block of 84th Avenue S.E., the night of Sept. 6.
A bicycle, longboard and tire pump, all worth about $780, were stolen from an open carport in the 3800 block of East Mercer Way, the night of Sept. 5.
A leather bag with a purse and numerous credit, debit and identification cards, and a cell phone left in plain view was stolen from a car that had a window smashed while parked in the 3800 block of East Mercer Way between 5 and 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14.
A bicycle and a pair of snow skis were stolen from an open garage in the 7300 block of 80th Place S.E. between 6 and 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 12.
Teen drinking
Two teens, 14 and 15, were transported to Overlake Hospital after a parent noticed that they were drunk and nauseous around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 13. According to the police report, the teens admitted they had been drinking that night, were arrested and released to their parents.
