The Mercer Island School District experienced power outages at Islander Middle School, Lakeridge Elementary and Island Park Elementary Wednesday morning.

The outage occurred around 10:35 a.m., with power being restored at approximately 11 a.m., Mercer Island School District Superintendent Dr. Gary Plano released in a statement.

“When power was restored the district had already implemented procedures that would allow the school day to continue,” Plano said in the statement. “Now that power has been restored, the school day will continue as scheduled.”

MISD spokesman Randy Bolerjack said the district attributed the outage to weather-related issues.
