Ballots for the August 7, primary election for federal and state offices were delivered today to Island voters. The ballots list candidates vying for two seats in Congress, 12 state offices and ten judges. A single, county-wide capital levy for the construction of a new ‘Children and Family Justice Center’ is also included.

Islander voters should also find the Primary Election Voters Pamphlet in their mailbox as well. Ballots must be returned no later than (or postmarked) August 7 to be counted.

For voters who need assistance in completing their ballot, the closest accessible voting center is set up at Bellevue City Hall at 450 110th Ave. N.E. in Bellevue, during regular business hours. Trained staff and specialized equipment is available to help voters with disabilities cast their ballot.

The top two finishers in each race will continue on to the November 6, General Election ballot, including those who only have two candidates. There are exceptions in races for the judiciary. If there is a winner of a contest between two candidates for a judgeship in the Primary Election, races for some of those will not be repeated in the General Election.

A new King County Sheriff will be selected in the November 6, General Election.
