King County Metro is holding a public meeting at Union Station at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, so that riders and the public can share their concerns and insights regarding Metro’s proposed service cuts.

Metro is facing a $75 million budget shortfall, and has said it will cut service by 17 percent starting in the fall of 2014 if there is no new revenue.

Part of the proposed cuts include eliminating 65 bus routes, including several on Mercer Island, and changing another 86 routes with reductions or revisions.

Metro was getting money from the two-year $20 car tab fee from King County, but the fund expires in 2014.
