A briefing of the Renton City Council scheduled for Monday, Feb. 28, on the Quendall Terminals mixed-use project on Lake Washington has been moved to March 14.
The change was made to accommodate the schedule of city planners.
The briefing is intended to bring the City Council “up to speed” on the Quendall project and where the city stands in the review process, said Jennifer Henning, a Renton planning manager.
The council will not get into specifics of the project, she said.
The proposed project has received more than 70 letters from community members and public agencies, which contain about 500 comments about the impacts of the project, Henning said.
That number, she said, “is a really good amount.”
The comment period was extended twice because of the intense interest in the project.
Quendall Terminals includes 800 units of housing, 245,000 square feet of office space and six- or seven-story buildings on 21 acres. There’s room for a restaurant and some retail space.
Residents worry the project would block views and create traffic congestion on Lake Washington Boulevard. The site is just off Interstate 405 in north Kennydale.
The project also has drawn the interest of residents of Mercer Island directly across the lake from the project site.
