Ramseyer joins Make-a-Wish board of trustees
Make-A-Wish of Alaska and Washington, the nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, has announced that Islander John Ramseyer has joined the Board of Trustees.
Ramseyer is the Seattle Branch Manager at Robert W. Baird & Co. and has been an SEC registered representative since 1995. Ramseyer is also the owner of Ramseyer Vineyards in Zillah, Wash., with his wife Heather. The winery was founded in 2005 and produces around 300 cases of wine annually.
The winemaker is the third Mercer Island resident on the non-profit board. He joins Brian Mock and Jeff Dunn on the board of trustees.
Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington has granted wishes to more than 5,400 children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can influence the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family.
