July 29

Raccoon concern: A resident in the 2000 block of 80th Avenue Southeast was concerned that raccoons seemed more emboldened lately. The resident was advised to contact the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Cursing and spitting: It was reported that a subject entered a business in the 7800 block of Southeast 27th Street and cursed and spit at employees before bolting out of the emergency exit.

Yelling: A verbal disturbance between neighbors regarding a driveway parking space was reported in the 4300 block of Fernbrook Drive.

Trespassing: A subject was trespassed for shoplifting at a business in the 7700 block of Southeast 27th Street.

July 28

Swimmer in distress: The Marine Patrol unit reached out to assist Renton police with a swimmer in distress on Lake Washington.

Fraud: A resident in the 8400 block of Southeast 82nd Street provided payment and significant personal information to a website posing as a Transportation Security Administration precheck renewal provider.

July 27

Harassment: A resident in the 6600 block of East Mercer Way received flowers and an appreciation letter from an unknown person and feared it could be a subtle threat. The officer did not take a report.

July 26

Noise annoys: Residents in the 3800 block of East Mercer Way complained of noise coming from a commercial building. It was determined that the noise didn’t violate city ordinances.

Disturbance: A passerby contacted a male subject when he was heard screaming on the trail in the 2500 block of 76th Avenue Southeast. No assistance was needed.
