On Jan. 3, four Mercer Island Rotarians were part of a group that helped build a tiny home in coordination with Sound Foundations NW at the Hope Factory in Seattle. Sound Foundations NW, which partners with the Low Income Housing Institute to construct the abodes, states on its website: “Imagine what it would be like during the pandemic not to have a home. Nowhere safe and secure to keep you from the virus. That’s why we have been deemed an essential organization and are building transitional tiny homes as fast as we can. The homes are for healthy homeless folks to stay healthy and away from the virus.” Pictured Rotarians are Bunnie Cundiff (sitting on stairs); Edie Warner (in window to the right); Mike Finn (standing, second from right); and Terry Lee (farthest right).
