Scheid to run against Grausz for Mercer Island Council seat

Filing period for political office over; just two contested races out of three City Council positions and two School Board posts

The official filing window for candidates wishing to run for public office closed as of 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 17.

Islander Kevin Scheid has joined the race for City Council, filing today to run against incumbent, Dan Grausz for position 2. Candidates who filed this week for public office on Mercer Island also include:

Tana Senn who is running for Pos. 4 on the City Council unopposed. Benson Wong and Rich Erwin are both vying for City Council Pos. 6. For the Mercer Island School District Board of Directors, incumbent Dave Myerson is running unopposed for Pos. 2 and incumbent Adair Dingle is also unopposed for Pos. 4.

Islander John Urquhart is running unopposed for the position of King County Sheriff.

Candidates who have filed, have until Monday, May 20 at 4:30 to withdraw.

The slate of candidates will then become final.
