The Senior Foundation of Mercer Island will host its 10th annual Island Books night on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This year’s theme is “Sneak Preview” featuring a special look at the soon to be published “Mercer Island History: From haunted wilderness to coveted community” book. Author Jane Meyer Brahm will be on hand for a special video presentation about the history of Mercer Island, followed by a question and answer session.
Stop by the store and mention the Senior Foundation and 20 percent of the sales from the day will go back to the foundation.
At 8 p.m. on Aug. 22 there will be a raffle ticket drawing for six tickets to the Great Wheel in Seattle, as well as drawings for a copy of the Brahm’s new history book and two bottles of wine. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each and can be purchased from any Senior Foundation board member. Winners do not need to be present to win.
