As the Paris Olympics were underway, more than 74 resident and employee athletes from Covenant Living at the Shores on Mercer Island recently participated in their own summer games. The events were a way for individuals at the senior living community to stay active through in a bit of friendly competition. Those events included cycling, swimming in Lake Washington, archery, javelin throw, volleyball and golf. To add to the theme, resident Peter Kennedy shared his experience of competing in figure skating during the winter games in 1948 and 1952 in Switzerland and Norway. He donned his original Olympic team coat during his presentation. Peter and his sister Karol Kennedy won a silver medal in the 1952 winter games. Courtesy photo
