SJCC presents ‘I’m Not A Comedian… I’m Lenny Bruce’ on Dec. 8

Mercer Island’s Stroum Jewish Community Center will present “I’m Not A Comedian… I’m Lenny Bruce” from 2-3:30 p.m. on Dec. 8. The J is located at 3801 E Mercer Way.

This one-man theatrical performance chronicles the life and times of Lenny Bruce, a Jewish comedy legend whose fight for freedom of speech is more timely now than perhaps ever before. Brought to life by award-winning director Joe Mantegna and written and performed by Ronnie Marmo, “I’m Not A Comedian… I’m Lenny Bruce” is a beautifully staged theatrical production that has wowed critics and audiences across the country and off-Broadway.

There will be a post-show talkback with playwright/performer Marmo and Seattle University law professor David Skover, author of “The Trials of Lenny Bruce,” who petitioned the governor of New York for Bruce’s posthumous pardon.

Tickets are $25-$50. For more information, visit: https://sjcc.org/event/im-not-a-comedian-im-lenny-bruce/
