The Mercer Island Police Department is asking citizens of the Island to be on alert after a rash of paddle board thefts have taken place.
Since Sept. 12, paddle boards have been reported stolen from docks and property along Lake Washington. MIPD have had 11 reports of thefts for 14 paddle boards.
The boards are valued anywhere from $1,000 to $4,000 and the total loss is estimated around $30,000.
Detective Pete Erickson said they have no suspects at this time, and are asking resident to be on the watch and to report any suspicious activities.
